Book Matching

Book matched panels enhance visual interest and harmony of a project as well as define the mark of fine craftsmanship. The book matching process begins with resawing stock and opening the segments like a “book” to reveal nearly mirrored images in the grain. These segments are planed, sanded and edge-glued in this “open book” orientation.
The key to producing this artistic flow in a project lies significantly in the careful selection of stock. Unusual grain patterns and color variations allow the craftsman to form interesting mirrored designs.
