Fitting Work is Fitting Work

I’ve been fitting a newel post to a curved staircase.

After laying up and turning the newel post sans the top fitting, I am mortising it through the starter tread base, and notching it up around the second riser, and coping the newel's tenon to the curved stringer.

The tricky part of fitting this newel is going to be mortising the second riser and tread into the post, and the requisite assembly sequence.

After that, I’ll fit the rest of the risers and treads.
